How to solve Wordpress - Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_link_cats() error

I setup a new blog yesterday and installing (uploading) the latest version of Wordpress 2.5.1 to my host. Login to admin panel, setting up user profile, themes and plugins, everything seems to be working fine. But when I try to add link, it shows the error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_link_cats() in /blog/wp-admin/link-manager.php on line 155.

I’m shock and try Google for answer; however there is no solution for this “Fatal error”. Some tips that I’m able to find is add a .htaccess file into wp-admin folder with the command line below:

SecFilterInheritance Off

But it doesn’t help!!

At last, I found a similar solution that may able to solve the wordpress’s fatal error!

Email Encoder Avoid Email Spam

If you’re receiving spam email every day, your email address is probably being harvested by the spambot or spam spider. It happens when you publish email address on your web page, although you’re not going to make it a “mailto” email hyperlink but the “@” sign is attracting them. The spambot are collecting email through your web page source and in order to defend your mailbox you should start work out on these file such as html, php etc.

One of the easiest way to protect your email is publish your email like yourname(a)domain(dot)com or yourname @ domain.com, but it is not user friendly for me as I need to modify the (a) to @, the (dot) or closing the spaces between the @ sign before I can send it out.

The web base Chinese input doesn’t need to install any Chinese input program into your PC and able to recognize more than 7 thousands Chinese words.

Simply logon to the website here, start typing and select the desire word. Compare to built-in IME, it needs to key in the full pin-ying character for the first word and don’t have the learning mode as well. How To Uninstall Soholaunch And Fix pinEdit.php Not Found Issue

Just setting up my new web host and play around with the website builder under Fantastico - Soholaunch. Soholaunch is an online script for user to create or modify web page online. By using GUI editing, it is suitable for beginner who knows nothing of a html code. But if you can do more than a html editing, then I suggest to go for advance content management system - Joomla or Drupal. Why? Compare with Joomla or Drupal, Soholaunch is not a fully open-source script that you’ll need to pay for more web template, plugins or extension to upgrade it to Pro version. Anyway, this post is to share the ~~freak~~ fix of Soholaunch on how to uninstall Soholaunch and solve the pinEdit.php not found issue.

Goolge Announce Google Phone

From the news, Google Phone is officially confirmed by Google Spain and Portugal officer Isabel Aguilera (via Digg). Purpose of developing this mobile device is for more users in developing countries easier to get info from the internet directly via their mobile phone. Could this mean Google Phone will enter the low-end market? Meanwhile Isabel Aguilera also revealed that Google Phone is one of the products in Google development project and they’ll put more effort on software development.

No info about the actual mobile phone design. However, could this concept design will be the one? From the photo, a large touch screen, navigation button, flip keypad cover, fast access panel and external add-on?

By using the coal that picks up from the debris of Titanic as a part material, it makes Titanic DNA become a legendary watch and sold for USD7, 800 ~ USD 17, 3100. The Titanic DNA manufacturer Romain Jerom from Geneva plans to build 2,012 pieces of “Titanic DNA” to commemorate the sinking of Titanic 100th anniversary in the year 2012.

So, which part is containing the DNA of Titanic? It was the black dial surface of the watch that painted with the combination of the coal. Oh, could it be Jack’s charcoal?

Update: They’ve spent or (better word) invest a lot of money for 1.5kg of “DNA” from RMS Titanic (America).

Gadget Screen Protector Resurrection

After long time of sketching my PDA, the screen protector becomes rough and there is some scratch mark appears on screen. For me, there is an option to protect the LCD screen besides a new screen protector replacement. Here, I’ll show my own ways on how to resurrect the dull gadget screen protector. Tools needed for the operations are white candle and tissue paper, check out the photos below.

Rough screen protector is hard to sketch and it may cause my Palm PDA “blue-screen” (Hang!) sometime.

Use white candle only.

How To Identify A Genuine Ink Cartridge

How good are you in identifying a genuine consumable part? Such as printer ink cartridges, ink tanks or toners? Nowadays, the recondition or counterfeit technology reaches 99% of similarity compare with a genuine part. This was not a new findings but I wish to share some tips with you for not being a victim of a counterfeit product.

I’ve brought the new Canon “Genuine” BC-03 ink cartridge from a local computer store two days ago. There is some gap in the printout and this is indicating that the new cartridge’s print head has the manufacturer defeat. So I’m ready to get a new ink cartridge replacement at Canon Service Center in terms that the cartridge is still holding not less than 75% of ink. I’m shocked when Canon service personnel telling me that it was a “recondition” cartridge because it fails for the genuine verification checks. Special thanks to Canon Marketing Sdn. Bhd. (Ipoh, Malaysia.) Mr. Leong, for providing such valuable information on how to identify a genuine consumable part.

Google SketchUp - An AutoCad Alternative?

Which program is the “big boss” in CAD world? Needless to say, it’s AutoCAD from AutoDesk Inc.
