The Buddy bear phone is not even a complete cell phone; for one it doesnt even have a display. It cant even dial numbers except preprogrammed ones. Ditto for messaging where a preset SMS may be sent to four preset recipients. The design of the phone is really cute, it is a buddy bear for all practical purposes. The four paws are used as buttons to dial the four preset contacts. There are connections of power cable, headset as well as USB at the bottom of the bear. The bear has LED’s in its ears which begin flashing when its called.

There is a SOS button on the side of the head for the child to dial in an emergency. When the bear gets low on battery, the parent gets an SMS. The parent can even dial in to the bear and listen to what the child is up-to, kind of lke a remote baby monitor. Mobilegazette says that it could make a good eavesdropping device since the parent or anyone else could dial in at any point of time and listen to conversations without the phone needing to be answered.
